Natural by Design Studio for Holistic Health- Massage Therapy from Colleen Avedisian
Not everyone understands the holistic approach to health. Simply put, it takes into account the physical, mental and spiritual aspect of the individual and how it relates to them as a whole. The body is an intricate machine, and those in the medical field are just now understanding how one area of the body affects another area. It's a more natural approach; one that's becoming more and more popular. Colleen has an integrated practice where she embraces Naturopathic philosophy. This includes nutrition, lifestyle, spiritual growth, relaxation, physical exercise, and massage therapy. Recommendations are made for each individual client based on their personal needs and goals. Improved health is gained by using non-toxic natural products. Colleen's health-building tools include #1 wholesome nutrition, homeopathy, herbal supplements, vitamin/mineral supplementation, detoxing, colon therapy, Bach Flower remedies, and essential oils, just to name a few.
A Naturopath emphasizes prevention, treatment, and optimal health through methods that encourage a person's self-healing process. They can offer natural options to many health challenges, some of which might include headaches, digestive issues, allergies, chronic pain, hormonal imbalances, obesity, circulation, depression, Fibromyalgia, skin rashes and much more. They keep up-to-date on the latest research and incorporate it into their treatments. A Naturopath emphasizes the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors and susceptibility to disease. In other words, they work to head off a disease instead of waiting for it to emerge. A Naturopath believes in the theory of deficiencies and/or toxicity and will make recommendations accordingly. They understand the gut/brain connection and how vital a healthy microbiome is to overall health. So, while an Allopathic (M.D., D.O.) believes the body is doing something wrong, a Naturopathic (N.D.) believes the body is doing exactly what it is created to do. If you are willing to make drastic changes you can expect drastic improvements.
PRODUCTS & NUTRIENTS
Colleen believes that nature holds the answers to a long and healthy life. With all the medications available today, we've gotten away from the pure and natural products that have amazing medicinal qualities. There are also many run-of-the-mill supplements on the market today that may not be completely safe. The quality products used by Colleen are scientifically proven to be effective, natural, and life-enhancing. The purity and potency of these supplements will have you feeling your best...a true holistic way to a better mind, body, and spirit.
TYPES OF MASSAGE & THERAPY
Colleen will use your first session to assess your health and design an individualized treatment that she feels will bring you the most relief. If relaxation is what you need, try the seated chair massage for 10-15 minutes. For more intense neck or back pain, Colleen does a deep tissue massage that gets to the muscle and releases the tension. Shiatsu therapy, otherwise known as finger pressure, can calm your nervous system, improve circulation and relieve stress. Foot reflexology involves applying thumb pressure to reflex areas in the hands or feet. These areas refer to organs & systems in the body. Reflexology relieves tension, increases circulation and helps promote natural functions in the body. Another method Colleen uses is cranial sacral therapy, where she gently works with the spine and skull to relieve neck and back pain, migraines and fibromyalgia. Sports massage and polarity therapy are other options for pain relief and relaxation.
After a session with Colleen, you will feel the benefits. You'll be calmer, more relaxed, and more in tune with your body. It may happen after your first visit, or you could possibly need a few additional sessions...but you will feel better, without medications. Massage therapy has been known to boost immune system, lower blood pressure, and improve the overall health of the individual. Colleen has worked with cancer patients, and through therapy, can ease the fluid build-up from lymphedema.
Start living a more relaxed, happy, healthy, and pain-free life. Colleen is currently attending school to become a naturopathic practitioner. Call Colleen today...she is available by appointment only.
