About the Stratford on the Avenue Theatre Festival

The third annual Stratford on the Avenue Theatre Festival is scheduled for Friday, July 27th-Sunday, July 29th and Friday, August 3rd-Sunday, August 5th; with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm, and Sundays at 2pm.

The event is sponsored by House of Flavors Restaurant and is a production of the Stage Left Theatre Company, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of local individuals dedicated to providing a variety of theatre opportunities to the community and, eventually, hosting educational workshops and children's theatre events.

This outdoor theatre festival is held at Rotary Park (formerly City Park) in downtown Ludington and features classical play performances by the likes of Shakespeare, Molière, Wild, etc. This year's main stage play will be Shakespeare's As You Like It, with a humorous, abridged adaption of MacBeth as the opener.

Attendees aree encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for the show. Tickets are generally $5 for Seniors 55 and older and Students/Children, and $7 for all others.

Stage Left Gives Back

Stratford on the Avenue will be utilized by Stage Left to help raise funds for another non-profit entity each year. The 2017 beneficiary was the Lakeshore Resource Network, an organization whose mission is to "facilitate a network of resources to strengthen individuals and families in our community by helping to meet immediate needs and accessing opportunities for lasting solutions". The organization will do this through many means, including a centralized food pantry, meeting rooms for use by service providers, and access to resources for families in need.
