Stratford on the Avenue Theatre Festival Supports Local Organizations

Shakespeare
The annual Stratford on the Avenue Theatre Festival is a production of the Stage Left Theatre Company, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of local individuals dedicated to providing a variety of theatre opportunities to the community and, eventually, hosting educational workshops and children's theatre events.

This outdoor theatre festival is held during the summer at Rotary Park (formerly City Park) in downtown Ludington and features classical play performances by the likes of Shakespeare, Molière, Wild, etc. In 2018, the main stage play was Shakespeare's As You Like It, with a humorous, abridged adaption of Shakespeare's classic called "Macbeth & Sons Auto Sales, LLC" written by Trenton Wahr and Deanna Dibble as the opener.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for the show. There is usually a live auction prior to each performance of items and gift certificates donated by area businesses.

Each year, Stage Left chooses a different non-profit beneficiary for the festival, with 2018 proceeds going to the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.
