Annual Tree & Plant Sales

Every year, the Mason-Lake Conservation District, AFFEW, and the Mason County Garden Club offer sales for tree seedlings, plants, bulbs, and native plants.

Oceana Conservation District Annual Tree & Shrub Sale

Sale is now closed. Orders may be picked up on April 20th, 2024.

This sale includes Conifer seedlings, Conifer transplants, Deciduous trees & shrubs, fruit trees, berries, grapes, dune grass, planting supplies, and additional items. 

Orders may be placed online or order forms printed at oceanaconservation.org. Printed order forms should be mailed to 1064 Industrial Park Dr., Shelby, MI, 49455.

AFFEW Annual Native Plant Sale

Now through April 20th, 2024

This sale had traditionally been an in-person event but, for 2023, only online orders were accepted. Orders maybe placed through for Garden & Single Species flats plus individual Quart & Gallon plants. For more info, visit affew.org.

Native plants are great for any landscape and are highly tolerant to year-round weather conditions in Michigan. They are also more resistant to pests, disease and drought. 

Spring Tree Seedling Sale

The Mason-Lake Conservation District is taking orders for their Spring Tree Sale now through March 1st. Only pre-orders will be accepted.

This sale offers great deals on the following:

  • Conifers (Including Red Pine, White Pine, White Spruce, Norway Spruce, and White Cedar)
    trees
  • Shrubs
  • Fruit Trees
  • Groundcover
  • And many others

 

Planting a tree can be very beneficial to the health of the environment. Earth Day and Arbor Day at the end of April is a great time to plant trees, being the first opportunity where the ground is usually warm enough to plant. Pick up dates:

  • Ludington: Friday, April 26th, 2024 from 2-6pm & Saturday, April 27th from 9am-12pm at the Mason County Fairgrounds- 5302 W. US-10, Ludington
  • Baldwin: Saturday, April 27th, 2024 from 10am-12pm at the pavilion behind Jones Ice Cream- 858 Michigan Ave., Baldwin

*Fall Sale

The Mason-Lake Conservation District Fall Tree Sale is annually held in October. It is conducted by pre-orders only.

The Spring Tree/Grass Sale and Fall Sale offer great pricing on these items:

Conservation books and conservation products will also be available for sale.

*Fall tree planting is recommended only for conifers on coarse textured soil (sand and loamy sands), soil that is well or moderately well drained.

Mason County Garden Club Plant Exchange & Fall Plant Sale

June 1st AND September 2024

The Mason County Garden Club holds two plant sales annually at Leveaux Park, one in May and the other in September. The sales are held at Leveaux Park, East Ludington Avenue near Madison Street, in Ludington. It is a great time to get various plants and bulbs to brighten up your garden. You can either bring a plant to exchange, or you can purchase a plant if you don’t have any to exchange.
