There are many things to do and see in the Ludington area.
Downtown offers a spacious beach, mini-golf, shuffleboard, and
a well equipped playground. If you feel like strolling, take
a walk on the breakwater and see the Ludington harbor lighthouse,
or walk to the downtown area for your shopping pleasure. You
can also enjoy seeing the S.S. Badger carferry make its
daily runs to Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
Many fine dining and casual restaurants are near the downtown
area. Golf courses and city tennis courts assure that golfers
and tennis players will be accommodated on their vacation.
Directly across the lake from our resort is the popular Ludington
State Park. Whether you enjoy hiking, canoeing, or just relaxing
while enjoying natural settings, we're sure you'll find it here.
Swimming, boating, sailing, windsurfing, and skiing are enjoyed
by many on a lake that is big enough for all. At Willow-By-The-Lake
Resort, we have rental boats with motors available. If you bring
your own boat, dock space is available for a fee.
Hamlin Lake and its bayous offer an outstanding variety of
fish. Our guests have brought in perch, crappie, bluegill, northern
pike, large and small mouth bass, in addition to walleye. Over
600,000 walleye planted in recent years are now game size.
Lake Michigan salmon and steelhead are seasonally plentiful
at the dam site and charter boat salmon fishing is available
at the Ludington harbor.
Directions:
Travel US-10 through the city of Ludington to Lake Michigan
and turn right on North Lakeshore Drive. At approximately 2-1/2
miles, as M-116 curves left, turn right on Lakeshore (just past
the Country Store). Travel Lakeshore Drive north, turing left
over the bridge (at Waterside Resort), and follow the shoreline
of Hamlin Lake until you see our sign (about 4 miles).
