  • 1st Sailing of the S.S. Badger Carferry– All aboard the SS Badger! Travel to Manitowoc, Wisconsin, or enjoy a shoreline cruise right here in Ludington.
  • Farmer’s Markets– Ludington offers a farmer’s market in Legacy Plaza through the spring and summer.
  • Petunia Parade– Volunteers plant petunias along Ludington Avenue/US-10 to beautify the stretch of road.
  • Local Lighthouses Open for Tours- Many West Michigan lighthouses offer tours to the public.

  • Western Michigan Fair– This huge event spans 5 days and is held at the Mason County Fairgrounds.
  • Gold Coast Artisan Fair– Artists & Crafters fill Ludington’s Rotary Park for this popular show.
  • Open Horse Shows– The Mason County Fairgrounds hosts numerous shows from May-October each year.
  • Lighthouse Triathlon– This event, ending at Stearns Park Beach in Ludington, offers participants 5 events to choose from.
  • Farmer’s Market– Many West Michigan communities offer farmer’s markets through the spring and summer.
  • Suds on the Shore Festival– Sample beer and wine at this fundraiser for the United Way of Mason County.
  • Michigan Free ORV Weekend– ORVers can legally ride DNR-designated routes and trails without purchasing an ORV license or trail permit.

September 2024

  • Farmer’s Markets– Ludington offers a farmer’s market in Legacy Plaza through the spring and summer.

  • Ludington Lake Jump– This event raises money for a different charity each year with individuals collecting pledges to jump into the ice waters of Lake Michigan.
  • Earth Day Celebration– The local AFFEW Chapter hosts speakers and events to recognize Earth Day.

Ludington Skate Plaza

The Ludington Skate Plaza is a popular spot for kids with skateboards or in-line skates, and also draws spectators to Stearns Park.

The Market

The Market is located at Stiles and US-10. It’s a one-stop shop for fresh produce, landscaping products, farmhouse decor, and more.

AJ’s Party Port

Beer cave stocked with craft & domestic beer, a variety of liquor, and over 300 different kinds of wine. Plus tobacco, groceries, ice, etc.

Pere Marquette Conservation Park

In 2021, the Pere Marquette Charter Township unveiled the new Pere Marquette Conservation Park, located on 300 acres of former Dow property.
